Persevere: Climbing the Mountain Together

S

At Hands & Feet Project, we believe that no family should be torn apart due to poverty, hardship, or crisis. But the reality is, many parents in Haiti are forced to make heartbreaking decisions simply because they lack the resources to provide for their children.

We endeavor to stand in the gap. We walk with families—not ahead of them, not behind them. With steady support, we help them persevere—together.

The Climb: Why Family Preservation Matters

Picture a family at the base of a mountain. No food. No school. No safety net. The climb feels impossible. For some, the only option left is to surrender their children to an orphanage. Not because they want to—but because they have nothing left.

But what if, instead of facing that climb alone, families had a community to support them, equip them, and help them press forward?

That’s the point of Stronger Together. We don’t save families. We link arms with them. We help carry the load. And we give them a shot at staying whole.

Haiti in Crisis — Why Now?

  1. 4.9 million Haitians—half the country—are facing acute hunger (UN World Food Programme, January 2025).
  2. 360,000 people displaced by gang violence (IOM, February 2025).
  3. Over 500,000 children are at risk of dropping out of school (UNICEF, March 2025).

It’s not just a crisis—it’s a collapse.

With your help, we do more than respond. We stay. We show up again and again. Through prayer, presence, and practical tools, we help families find footing. This is what that looks like:

What Your Sponsorship Provides

When you sponsor a family, you provide critical support in four key areas:

Physical Support

  1. Monthly food (one meal per child per day)
  2. Emergency medical help (up to 50%)

Emotional Support

  1. Trauma tools and support
  2. Healthy attachment development

Educational Support

  1. School tuition, books, and tutoring
  2. Two uniforms per child (clothes and shoes)
  3. Vacation Bible School

Spiritual Support

  1. Regular pastoral care, prayer, and discipleship

We call this the Circle of Care—a wraparound effort that enables families to stand up, not fall apart.

The Vision for 2025 & The Need

In Cap-Haïtien, we’re aiming to welcome 40 new families and launch a food distribution program.

In Grand Goâve, we plan to hire four new family advocates to serve 160 families.

Right now, 119 families are walking with us. But many more are waiting. We’re only 32% funded. We need to act—and we need you with us.

How You Can Help

  1. $10 per month feeds a family for a month.
  2. $15 per month covers one doctor’s visit.
  3. $300 per month covers the full care of an average-size family—body, mind, heart, and soul.

This isn’t just charity—it’s solidarity. You’re not giving a handout. You’re helping a family climb.

Stronger Together = Persevering Together

Perseverance means refusing to give up. It means fighting for hope when everything screams “quit.” With you in their corner, families in Haiti don’t have to walk through crisis alone.

This month, as we rally around the word Persevere, we invite you to take the next step with us.

Let’s climb with them.
Let’s hold the rope.
Let’s keep families together.
