Introducing Stronger Together

We have some exciting news about our Preserving Families Project! Read below to learn about the steps forward that we’re taking concerning the children and families in our Family Preservation & Support Program and Reunification Care & Support Program.

Over these past few years, we have felt an increasingly strong sense of conviction that we need to be more intentional in our interactions with each family unit. As we visited each child’s home every month to ask for a photo and an update for sponsors, our best intentions to share their stories still fell short of honoring their family’s privacy.

After much prayer, in an effort to better honor the family unit, we decided to move away from the monthly child-specific updates and out of the individual child sponsorship model for these children.

This means that we will no longer offer individual child sponsorships for children in our Preserving Families Project. Instead, individuals who choose to support these children and families will have their donation allocated to our “Stronger Together” Program.

Nothing will change about the level of care and quality we provide. What will change is how we share each child’s story.

Each month, these supporters will receive an update from a different family in the “Stronger Together” Program. Now, they can learn more about each of the families throughout the year — not just one child.

We have chosen Ecclesiastes 4:12 to be the foundational verse for the “Stronger Together” Program.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Are you looking to get involved? You can help us build strong foundations that will continue to defend against the separation of families while allowing families to be the gatekeepers of their own stories. Learn more here.
