Belief Is the Hardest Work We Do

Believe

There’s a moment in every climb when the air thins, when vision narrows, and when belief is all that remains between you and the summit. Not the kind of belief that floats lightly on optimism, but the kind that clings—with white-knuckled resolve—to the rope of faith.

At Hands & Feet Project, belief is not abstract. It’s the quiet decision to keep showing up for the vulnerable child when systems fail. It’s the collective conviction that God’s design for family still holds power in places fractured by crisis. It’s the trust that redemption is not only possible—but already underway.

This year, our word has been Endeavor—a word that captures both the movement and the meaning of our mission.

As a verb, we endeavor to remain steadfast and rooted in God’s work, even when the climb steepens. We take Romans 12:11 as our compass: “Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in spirit; serve the Lord.”

As a noun, our Endeavor is the mountain itself—the ongoing, faithful work of expanding our circle of care, strengthening families, and building communities where children can grow, thrive, and believe again. Galatians 6:9 reminds us: “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

The Mountain Called Belief

Climbers know belief not as a theory, but as survival. It’s the invisible muscle that steadies the body and orders the breath when fear rises. Belief in oneself allows a climber to manage doubt. Belief in the process keeps them anchored to discipline. Belief in the team turns a group of individuals into a rope-bound brotherhood. Belief in the experience—what awaits at the summit—gives every struggle a reason.

So too in our work.

We believe in God’s sovereignty—the One who calls us to the mountain and meets us on the ledge.

We believe in the worth of every child, crafted in His image, deserving of safety, belonging, and hope.

We believe in the Haitian family, strong and resilient, capable of rebuilding what history has broken.

We believe that restoration is not a dream deferred but a promise unfolding through redemptive work—work done with hands, fueled by worship, and led by love.

The Theology of Our Work

Jesus’ vision for our lives was never limited to Sunday mornings—it was that we would see all work as worship, service, and calling.

When we create, teach, repair, or nurture—when we do it all unto the Lord—our work becomes a living altar. At Hands & Feet Project, we call this Redemptive Work—creative restoration through sacrifice. It’s the opposite of self-serving labor. It’s choosing to die to ourselves so others might live in dignity.

God has always been a working God—a gardener, a shepherd, a potter, a teacher, a builder. When we step into our work with that same spirit, we participate in His ongoing act of creation.

As Colossians 3:17 commands, “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

The Circle of Belief

We don’t climb this mountain alone. The Hands & Feet Project circle is more than a community—it’s a shared rope line stretching across nations, languages, and stories.

When you sponsor a child, pray for a family, volunteer, or give toward our projects, you join that circle.

And something sacred happens: as you reach toward transformation for others, God begins a quiet transformation in you.

Our hope for everyone who joins us is this:

  1. That you feel connected to the mission and to the people whose lives it touches.
  2. That you find your place in the story—a role that stirs your faith and renews your purpose.
  3. That you grow through giving, praying, and serving, discovering that generosity is its own kind of ascent.
  4. That you feel seen, valued, and known as part of this circle of care.
  5. And that in walking alongside vulnerable families, you too will encounter the God who restores what is broken.

Faith as the Final Belay

To believe is to climb when the summit is still hidden in clouds. To believe is to say yes when everything in you wants to rest at basecamp. To believe is to trust that every act of compassion, every small ascent of faith, moves the world one step closer to redemption.

We are the Hands & Feet of Christ—tethered by love, anchored in hope, ascending by faith.

And as we climb, we hold to this truth: When we choose to believe, Heaven meets us on the mountain.

Join The Circle today—and let belief move through you.
