☀️ | Welcoming New Families into Little Hands Daycare

Fighting to keep families together is an integral part of our mission.  We believe family preservation is one of the best ways to protect vulnerable children in Haiti.

One common challenge in Haiti is that it is difficult for working parents to find child care for children who are not of school age. Many parents rely on extended family members to help care for their young children. While this works well for many families, there are still countless other parents who do not have this resource. They are faced with the impossible question: How do I make sure that my child is well cared for while I am at the job that I need to provide for them?

This is where Hands & Feet Project comes in. By God’s grace, we can provide support to these working families through our Little Hands Daycare, which provides free, high-quality daycare. This gives each mother and/or father the ability to maintain their job, provide for their family, and allow their young children to start learning at an early age, while most importantly being exposed to the gospel. We believe giving children this opportunity will build a better tomorrow in Haiti by helping families stay together, assisting job creation, and increasing access to early education.

We follow the Montessori Method at Little Hands Daycare. We believe this form of education helps children develop independence, a sense of empathy and social justice, and a lifelong love of learning. Our teachers recently completed training to prepare for this upcoming school year, and will be ready to hit the ground running on the first day of school!

This year, we are excited to announce the reopening of our two Jacmel classrooms, and the grand opening of two new classrooms in Grand Goave! This is all possible through God’s provision and our Little Hands Classroom Sponsors.

Each Little Hands Classroom is named after a Caribbean bird, inspired by Scripture. Look at how God cares for the birds in Matthew 6:26. The Bible reminds us that we, His image-bearers, are even more valuable.

Will you help us give our best to the little ones in Grand Goave and Jacmel?

Our Little Hands Classroom Sponsors stay connected through monthly email updates, written classroom letters from our Regional Daycare Administrators, and conversations with our staff.
