Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!  Psalm 46:10

Alicia and I (Ryan) are from Ashland, KY and have been married for 19 years.  I have been a professional firefighter for the past 14 years, while Alicia has been teaching at a local public elementary school for over 17 years.  As an ordained Pastor, I have served the youth at our local church and served on staff of a local church plant in nearby Huntington, WV. We have been volunteering with the Hands and Feet Project for several years, serving on the field during our summer breaks, as well as managing 5k-fundraising events here in the States.

Our passion for Haiti is the result of a God inspired story. After years of struggling with infertility, God blessed us with an amazing daughter.  Abby, who is now 11 years old is one of the greatest  “desires of our hearts”. She lives life with such joy and she continually demonstrates the fact that God has an unbelievable plan for our lives, if we just have the courage to accept it.  We have always tried to instill a world vision in her, and through that process we have had our minds stretched to see the overwhelming need around us. On the outside, our family had everything we could ever want, but on the inside, God had something more for us.

We were introduced to the Hands & Feet Project in 2008 and the rest is, as they say, “ History”.  I visited Haiti on several occasions and began taking Alicia and Abby along as well.  We, as a family, instantly fell in love with the country, the Haitian people, and especially the children of Haiti.  We had found our purpose…a purpose that far exceeded what most people can comprehend.  Every trip we took, we would stay longer. Last year we stayed for the whole summer serving alongside the team in Jacmel.  During those few months God really started working on us as a family and through His calling we’ve decided that Haiti is more than just a place for us to visit. Loving Haiti has become our family’s passion.

We are currently in the adoption process to adopt a brother/sister sibling pair from Haiti. We are thrilled to provide a family for two little ones who need a home. Additionally, we have committed to serve with Hands and Feet as full-time missionaries in Haiti. We invite you to support us along the way, as we bring our unique skill sets, our God ordained experiences, and our overflowing hearts to the amazing country and the beautiful people of Haiti.
